Life on Mission
Has summer run away from you this year? It feels that way with us! Man it is going quick. I am so thankful for each of you who take time to read this brief update and pray for us. We have had the privilege of burning up our summer days, serving Jesus as he calls us towards life on mission. And what a Joy it has been.
Our sending church, Living Waters Fellowship was able to do our first VBS in our own building! Praise the Lord and what a joy to see nearly 90 kids come through the door and hear God’s word. I was so grateful to be able to serve in small ways and make great connections with a handful of Hispanic families right in our neighborhood. Be praying for Living Waters, that God raise up a family that can step in and fill the void of Spanish Ministry at living waters. With Approx 20% of our neighborhoods in South East Des Moines being Spanish speaking, there is no shortage of what God can do with those He is drawing there.
We were recently invited to speak at a Seniors’ luncheon at Saylorville Church. What a lively group! We were blessed to eat pizza, share our ministry, and be encouraged by the seniors. And what a blessing to hear from many who have walked with Jesus for many years. Their perspective is worth its weight in gold.
Less than week after that, I got a new, less mature perspective as I was blessed to spend a week on an inner city mission trip with the youth from Sacred Mission Church in Collins. On Monday last week, we left with 7 vehicles, 8 leaders, and 32 youth. Set out to serve the nomadic homeless of Kansas City. We served in dozens of ways and were able to share the gospel not only with the homeless but with the youth as well. It was amazing watching the kids interact in a different context for the first time and to see how God was working in each of the kids. We prayed hard, played hard, and served like crazy. And the name of Jesus was lifted high.
In the last several weeks, we have visited churches sharing our ministry and seeking partners as God raises them up. And He is faithful to do so. We have gained some ground financially and continue to trust God’s timing. We are praying earnestly that God fully fund our ministry to Peru by the end of this year and are asking you help with that. If you are a current financial partner, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts we are so grateful for you. We would ask that you introduce us to someone you know who would like to hear more about our ministry and partner with us as well. Just introduce us to someone and that’s it! If you are not a partner, we would encourage you to help us get to Peru by the end of this year. God is doing amazing things here and in South America. And we are ready as soon as God opens the door.
Pray for us: 1. That we are able to share Jesus with lost people. 2. That we continue with perserverance. 3. That God supply our need.
Blessings on you all
